“I had IVF this week, I don’t know what that stands for, but I know I had it, and then I had my egg retrieval on Monday, which is also the last time I pooped. You can’t poop after. I’ve been feeling rough all week but I feel better today, and knowing I was coming to see you.” Schumer expressed in front of the attention glued arena audience.

Schumer had previously mentioned the pooping issue to Winfrey backstage before the one-on-one interview. Winfrey shared the engagement on her Instagram page.

Following Schumer poop confession, she begins to elaborate on the after effects of IVF, “You get shot with a ton of hormones, I still have the bruises from where you get the shots. I mean I don’t wanna discourage anyone, but it hurts. And then, you have the egg retrieval; and after your ovaries are filling up with fluid. IVF guys, WHOW!”

Although Schumer had experienced days of pain due to the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) process fertilization defined as the moment in which the egg is combined with sperm outside the body, in vitro. She explained how the IVF process has taught her to be more patient and kind to herself. During her remarks, Schumer’s attention shifted after remembering there were many eyes and ears tuned into her every word.

“I think as woman the expectations on us are so high to always be ok, always look your best, feel your best, you know. And…and so I…wait, what am I talking about?”. With laugher in the arena, Winfrey replied, “Your talking about this process of being kinder to yourself.” Schumer said without hesitation, “You know when your talking, and then you look out and your like, there truly are 15,000 people here. And Oprah. I’m like ‘Am I high?’ I’m not high. I’m like I think I’m high.”

Schumer goes on to say, “It’s really easy to feel guilty all the time, especially now having a baby. Just that self guilt, the self hate, and it can get to me too. And what do you say to your friends, you know? Give yourself the advice that you give to your friends, love yourself like you’re your own mother. Be kind to yourself. Those feelings of guilt there useless, and their not real.”

Before wrapping up the 40 plus minute interview, it was only right for Winfrey to ask Schumer what vision she has committed to for 2020. Being that Schumer has a family, she was sure to mention her vision for herself first. “But before that dream for my family, my dream for myself is that I poop today. I can’t even tell you, it’s like, can the cameras see, look at that,” Schumer then pulls up her sweat shirt to show the audience her bloated tummy. “Look at that, it’s just sitting there.” Schumer expresses as the audience fills the arena with laughter.

“When I think of my vision for my family; what I want, what I wish for what I see is, and that I’m going to take steps toward, my intention is health, keeping us all as healthy as possible. I really hope our family grows.”

Winfrey then ask how many babies does Schumer want to have. “I definitely hoping for two, and you know maybe more. I’ve really had a beautiful experience having a baby, you know it’s different for everybody. But I really have to recommend if you’ve got the resources to have a baby, it’s been so life changing for me. And um, I really like the guy” referring to her 8 month old son Gene Attell Fischer born May 5th 2019. “And I picture us all on the beach together, and teaching maybe a little girl how to play volleyball.”.
