Between The World and Me is a book, now hitting the stage as a live theater production. The production features Killer Mike, T.I, Lynn Whitfield, Ledisi and more; directed by Apollo Theater Executive Producer Kamilah Forbes. The limited engagement event sold out in previous runs at the Apollo Theater in 2018.

Written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the book takes readers along as he shares memories of growing up Black in America, and reveals his own thoughts of the historical context of race in the US. Nominated as a finalist for a 2016 Pulitzer Prize, it is written in the style of a collection of letters to his son. In the writing, Coates addresses experiences that have shaped his conclusions about race, including growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, exchanges with college faculty at Howard University, and an intimate conversation he has with a mother who lost her son to police brutality. The work tackles the important questions about what it means to exist as a black person in this country.

The stage performance will take place at Symphony Hall Atlanta on October 22nd, 2019 and will continue to New York on October 25th 2019 through the 28th
