Fashion Looks That Made You Turn Your Head at the 2019 Black Music Honors

This year’s 2019 Black Music Honors, hosted by Ricky Smiley and singer LaToya Luckett acknowledged the works of legendary musicians that have contributed to African American culture and music. Among those honored were R&B girl group Xscape, gospel singer Yolanda Adams, R&B Icon Freddie Jackson and Arrested Development. The event was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, GA. 

Stars arrived in their best dressed for the ceremony and these are our top 5 fashion picks for Black Music Honors 2019.

Tamia

First is singer Tamia, who wore a gold and silver thigh-high slit dress. She was styled by JBolin. (@stylistjbolin) Tamia was honored that evening as well.

Juju

VH1 ‘Love and Hip Hop Star, Juju styled herself for the awards in a sleek black pantsuit from Fashion Nova. The 2 piece set included a top with one side that is long-sleeved and the other side was halter style and sleeveless. She paired the outfit with a pair of red strappy heels.

Jade Novah

Media personality, singer and morning show host Jade Novah was a showstopper in an enchanting emerald green gown by Sherri Hill. Novah, morning show host on Atlanta radio station V103 was styled by celebrity stylist Jeremy Haynes. (@noigjeremy)

Jessie Woo


Another reality television star who blessed us with her vibrant style at Black Music Honors this year is Jessie Woo. The Instagram comedienne and singer performed her new single, ‘Vacation’ in a retro silver halter top and distressed denim shorts styled by Amy J. (@msAmyJ)

Le’Andria Johnson

And last but certainly not least to round out our top 5 is GRAMMY Award winner Le’Andria Johnson. The singer looked amazing in not one, but two looks for the evening. One for the red carpet and one for her performance look. She was styled in both by designer and stylist G. DuBose II.
