Roddy Ricch has definitely been the topic in the music industry as “The Box” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart that released Monday, January 13th. This is his first time having a number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The single is off his album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial which reached Number 1 two weeks in a row on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release.  The 30Roc-produced track finishes the chart in its fifth week after dropping. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the hit accumulated 68.2 million U.S. streams. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” were the only two songs at that time to have more streams than Ricch.

The 21 year old rapper surpass Justin Bieber, who started an online campaign for his single “Yummy” to reach number 1, yet Ricch hit record dominated. The pop star later went to twitter to congratulate Ricch on his banger. Jay-Z added “The Box” to his 2019 end of the year list as well.  The Compton native also took to Instagram to share his chart topping achievement on his stories. The Antisocial Tour began on Tuesday, January 14th in Seattle and it has already sold out everywhere.
