Each year at the BET Hip Hop Awards, musicians do their best to stand out on the red carpet. Majority of the extra-loud outfits are a complete win, pushing the fashion envelope in the best way possible. We are taking a look at the best looks from the 2019 BET Hip Hop Award.
DaBaby
The Charlotte rapper DaBaby pulled up to the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta rocking a sleeveless Gucci suit. The suit has a traditional Gucci pattern in a reddish-pink tint and Dapper Dan logos patched onto the front and the back. DaBaby went shirtless under the vest, which left room for his new massive KIRK chain to be gloriously displayed. To complete the “pimpish” look, he included a cane and a bowler hat. It appears that this look was only intended to turn heads on the red carpet and many agreed that DaBaby resembled The Mask; the mischievous and charismatic protagonist in the 1994 Jim Carrey film.
Megan Thee Stallion
The queen of “Hot Girl Summer” Megan Thee Stallion turned up the heat in a fiery red gown that perfectly shows off her midriff. She was styled by EJ King (@ejking21) from BET’s ‘About the Business’. Although her dog peed on her dress just hours before arriving on the carpet, the H-town hottie still looked gorgeous. As one of the performers of the star-studded ceremony, the rapper later hit the stage in a nautical-inspired ensemble made up of a blue, vinyl bodysuit and equally glossy thigh-high boots.
Lil Kim
The iconic rapper Lil Kim set the tone for the night, matching her hair to her busty display in a gleaming Gucci blazer covered in chain-link checkers styles by Dapper Dan. Her coat featured a long, asymmetrical skirt that showcased her legs and her tall white platform shoes. While it’s a look that might not be a win at just any award show, at this one, it certainly was.
Rapsody
Showing off a gleaming blue and gold jacket and pants combo while wearing thick jeweled curlers in her hair and massive gold earrings. Rapsody was styled by fashion designer Misa Hylton (@misahylton) and her assistant Opal Campbell (@ophassionz). This outfit definitely gives us Missy Elliott’s vibes.
Jazz Anderson
Jazz Anderson looked absolutely stunning in Jovani Fashions (@jovanifashions) diamond stunning dress which shows off those long legs. Styled By Ryan Christopher (@ryanisstyle) and Alexander Wang (@alexanderwangny) shoes. She was all smiles on the red carpet before delivering some lyrical rhymes during the cypher.
