The 2020 Oscars were held on Sunday night, February 9th in Los Angeles. During the evening dedicated to honoring the best and the biggest cinematic accomplishments from the previous year, director Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite was the night’s biggest winner! The dark-twisted thriller took home four wins including best director for Joon-Ho and best picture; which allowed the film to make history as the first non-English language to win the best picture award at the Oscars. Universal’s 1917 scored three wins: for visual effects, cinematography and sound mixing. Other films that earned two awards each were Warner Bros Joker winning in the lead actor category for Joaquin Phoenix and for original screenplay. Sony’s One Upon a Time in Hollywood landed wins for Brad Pitt in the supporting actor category and for production design. 20th Century Studios Ford v Ferrari won for film editing and sound editing.
