All opinions aside, Michelle Obama is fitness goals for so many of us trying to get our health and wellness together in the New Year. The former First Lady who has been a health and fitness advocate since her time in the White House is on a mission to keep us on track with our fitness goal by sending some musical motivation our way. On Sunday, Mrs. Obama posted to Instagram her 2020 Workout Playlist that keeps her motivated in the gym. We have to admit, her playlist is lit! The list was divided into two parts: an upbeat section filled with Hip-Hop and R&B, followed by a cool down section filled with more relaxed songs. The compilation includes 36 songs from artist like Cardi B, Lizzo, Meek Mill, and Beyoncé amongst others “These songs always seem to give me that extra boost to get through my toughest workouts” she says in the post.
As mentioned before, Obama has always had a passion for fitness. In 2010 she launched her Let’s Move! Campaign to solve the problem of obesity within the younger generation. The idea is that children will grow up healthier, and able to pursue their dreams. The program was built on 5 initiatives: creating a healthy start for children, empowering parents and caregivers, providing healthy food in schools, improving access to healthy affordable foods, and increasing physical activity.
Mrs. Obama has changed the conversation of healthy eating for children and hopefully this playlist can help us change our attitude towards working out.
