Legendary hitmaker Akon does it again with his latest single, “Akon’s Beautiful Day.” With the debut date of October 4, 2024 through Konvict Kulture Records, the track debuted as the #1 most-added song at U.S. rhythmic radio with 45 stations in its first week—the only independent release to reach this milestone in 2024. The record was also recently named #1 Most Added at Pop Radio as of November 12.

The record reimagines a viral hook by 10-year-old Jamaican student Rushawn Ewears, whose touching school performance of “Beautiful Day” by Jermaine Edwards captured hearts worldwide, including Akon’s own.

According to the press release: the song’s smooth vocals, intertwined with a children’s choir, create a stadium-style anthem that reinforces the message that, despite life’s challenges, beauty and light are always within reach. Collaborating with Jkash, JR Rotem, and Phillip Phever, “Akon’s Beautiful Day” merges his soulful voice with a choir of children’s voices to deliver a timeless anthem of resilience and hope.

The song’s impact aligns with his ongoing mission to uplift and inspire, reflecting his work in Africa through projects like Akon Power & Lighting Africa, which champions energy access and digital transformation. Akon is also co-producing the documentary “Headliners Only” with Kevin Hart and Hartbeat, continuing his mission to connect with audiences around the globe.
