On Wednesday, Google announced that they will have accomplished a long-awaited breakthrough called “quantum’s supremacy”. It will allow new types of a computer to do calculations at top-notch speeds; quite unthinkable with today’s technology. Researched by The Silicon Valley lab in Santa Barbara, Ca (which attained since the 1980s) shows that scientists were working towards a milestone:  Its quantum computer conducted an assignment that by no means was possible with standard computers, as stated by a paper published in the science journal called Nature.

A quantum machine may someday lead to enormous progress in areas similar to machine intelligence and make even the strongest supercomputers look like toys. Toys in comparison to one of Google’s devices that did it in less than 4 minutes. A numeral calculation that supercomputers failed to complete in less than  10,000 years, the company shared in their paper. Scott Aaronson, a computer scientist at the University of Texas at Austin who examined Google’s paper before publishing stated, “The original Wright flyer was not a useful airplane…but it was designed to prove a point. And it proved the point.”
