It has been reported that Idris Elba has signed a deal with Apple TV+. The collaboration between the actor and streaming service will provide a group of original series and feature film projects from his production company, Green Door Pictures.

Created back in 2013, Green Door Pictures had a goal of “developing new and established talent, championing inclusion, representation and diversity within the company,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Previous projects from the company includes Netflix’s Turn Up Charlie, Starz’s In the Long Run, and upcoming feature Concrete Cowboys, which all feature Elba.

As of right now, there is no information on when production will begin for these promising film creations. The first project is looking like a film version of the hit crime show, Luther, which also stars Elba. During a Q&A with Sky News, he said a film version of Luther will, “allow us to now have more dramatic pin points moments that are slightly more compressed and it’s a bigger but smaller dose of Luther.”

Elba joins a growing list of creatives with deals at Apple TV+ including Oprah Winfrey, Alfonso Cuarón, and more.
