The Wilsons’ are known for their impeccable style and their continuous efforts to give back to the community. During the ongoing global pandemic, the couple has partnered with Feeding America; a nonprofit organization that is a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that feed more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies. The celebrity duo also created the Why Not You Foundation to encourage America’s youth.
Now the seahawks quarterback and his GRAMMY award-winning wife have launched a new clothing line, The House of LR&C. The new line stands for “Love, Respect, and Care” as well as “Love, Russell & Ciara.” The pair partnered with Christine Day, former CEO of Lululeman to launch their new fashion line.
On Tuesday, the couple took to social media to share the announcement.
Registered as a Public Benefits Corp with a pending B Corp, the House is dedicated to delivering social and environmental sustainability goals set by the United Nations.
“One of the things we talked about beforehand was sustainability in fashion,” Russell tells Vogue during a Zoom interview. “It’s such a critical issue and one of the elements that excited us most [within the project], so we invested in it.”
The company will also donate 3% of every purchase to the Wilson’s Why Not You Foundation.
One of the main goals of the House of LR&C is to “democratize fashion.” The couple aims to do this by making their fashion house more inclusive.
“Inclusivity was at the forefront of our design process; we wanted to speak to as many people as possible,” Ciara says.
“The world needs brands that are an extension of us all,” says Christine Day, Co-Founder and President of The House of LR&C. “ones that mirror our values and strengthen our planet, our people, and our communities.”
