Soul Train Awards is BACK! Get ready for a celebration of soul, legacy and Black excellence! The 2026 Soul Train Awards will air Friday, November 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and, for the first time, CBS. Hosted by Anthony Anderson, this year’s ceremony heads to Chicago’s Harris Theater, bringing the celebration back to the city where Don Cornelius launched Soul Train. The homecoming will spotlight the music, creativity and cultural influence that have connected generations through R&B and soul.

Leading this year’s honorees is Chaka Khan, who will receive the Classic Soul Honor for her lasting contributions to soul and R&B. With a catalog that includes “I’m Every Woman,” “Ain’t Nobody” and “Sweet Thing,” the Chicago-born powerhouse has helped shape the soundtrack of generations. Her recognition celebrates a career whose influence continues to reach across musical styles and inspire artists finding their own voices.

The celebration also recognizes the voices carrying soul into its next chapter. Durand Bernarr will receive the Soul Personified Honor, perform during the ceremony and host the digital red carpet show. Joining him is British Sudanese singer-songwriter Elmiene, who will receive the New Soul Honor and take the stage following the release of his debut album, sounds for someone. Together, these honorees represent soul’s enduring legacy and evolving future—giving fans plenty to celebrate when the awards return this November.
