After recently deciding to retire from the music industry, Teyana Taylor announced her new position as the Creative Director for Pretty Little Thing.

Last week, Taylor expressed her disdain for the music industry and feeling of being “under appreciated” for her talent and skillset.

“I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that I can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world!” Taylor writes in a farewell Instagram post to her fans.

Days later, on her 30th birthday (Dec. 10th), the Harlem-born singer took to Instagram to unveil her new career.

“Dirty 30 and its time make some more BIG moves,” she writes in the post. “Remember when I said “when one door closes another one opens. Either that or I’m picking the locks”? Well, I damn sure did & I am proud to announce that I have officially been named CREATIVE DIRECTOR of @prettylittlething. We’re going to be collaborating on some amazing projects together and I cannot wait to get started! What a way to bring some positive vibes & more #blackgirlmagic into 2021!
Happy birthday to me!”

Taylor is no strange to the world of fashion. Previously, she’s worked with Reebok and the PrettyLittleThing X Karl Kani Collaboration. Last year, the singer served as a brand ambassador for PrettyLittleThing.

Sharing in her excitement, the clothing brand took to their Instagram to announce the new partnership, congratulating Taylor.

“MAKING MOVES We are so excited to announce that @teyanataylor is joining the PLTHQ family as our brand new Creative Director 2021 – you ready!? P.S. Happy Birthday, girl It’s gonna be one to remember.”
