Verzuz announced R&B singers Keyshia Cole and Ashanti are battling hit-for-hit in the latest live-streamed Verzuz battle, set for Saturday, Dec. 12th.
The live-streamed battle series was launched by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz during quarantine earlier this year. But since, as evolved to include numerous different artists and styles of music.
Now going on to its second season, the R&B queens will battle hit-for-hit in over 20 rounds.
Both Ashanti and Cole expressed love and admiration for the other following the announcement.
Ashanti took to Instagram to share the announcement photo, captioning the picture. “Celebrating Women Empowerment!!”
Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement for the upcoming battle. One fan expressed that they’re torn between the two talented singers. Cole responded to the fan, tweeting “It’s okay to love us both!!! I approve this message!!!!”
Fans and celebrities alike were quick to share their excitement and thoughts about the upcoming matchup. Rapper Cardi B joined in the budding anticipation, tweeting a warning to all men.

This matchup will be the fourth female-charge battle, following the battles from Erykah Badu v. Jill Scott, Monica v. Brandy, and Gladys Knight v. Patti LaBelle.
