50 Cent Selects Tasha Smith to Direct “Black Mafia Family”

Actress Tasha Smith has signed on to direct various episodes in the Starz upcoming series “Black Mafia Family.”

The veteran actress has directed episodes from several hit shows, such as P Valley and Tales.

As a part of his deal with Starz, 50 Cent will serve as executive producer of the show. The series is based on the true-crime story of drug kingpins Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory.

In the ’80s, the Flenory brothers rose from the trenches of Detroit poverty by creating one of the most influential crime families in the nation.

Demetrius’s son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. has been cast to portray him in the series. Grownish’s Da’Vinchi will play Terry. The “Black Mafia Family” will also feature Wood Harris, Russell Hornsby, and Detroit Native “Kash Doll.

Smith has taken to social media to express her excitement for not only directing the series but for working with “an excellent cast.”
