The rap icon Jay-Z’s net worth has skyrocketed in the past few weeks after selling TIDAL shares and half of his champagne brand.

According to Forbes, the rapper turned billionaire’s net worth is $1.4 billion following his recent business deals. The rapper, born Sean Carter, sold most of his stake in TIDAL to Dorsey’s Square for $297 million USD. Recently, he also sold half of his Armand de Brignac champagne brand to LVMH.

These two deals lifted the Carter’s alright enormous fortune to new heights.

In his first tweets since 2018, the Roc Nation founder explains his business decision.

“Jack is one of the greatest minds of our times,” he writes. “And our many discussions about TIDAL’s endless possibilities have made me even more inspired about its future. This shared vision makes me even more excited to join the Square board.”

In the following tweet, the rapper refers to Dorsey and his partnership as a game-changer.

On his 2005 remix of Diamonds From Sierra Leone, Jay Z said, “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man.”

The lyric foreshadowed his many diverse business ventures that continue to grow the rapper’s net worth. Along with his 50% of Armand de Brignac, Carter has stakes in D’Usse cognac and Ethos and Sweetgreen. Accompanying his many stakes and shares are his series of shared multi-million dollar mansions with him and his wife, Beyoncé. The couple has also acquired a large and growing collection of art.
