Former first lady Michelle Obama will be launching a healthy eating show for children on Netflix, titled Waffles+Mochi.

Obama’s production company (Higher Ground Production) collaborated with Partnership for a Healthier America to create Waffles + Mochi. The goal of the show is to encourage children to make healthier food choices.

Obama took to twitter to share her excitement with fans.

“I’m beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, I’ll be launching a new show on @Netflix called Waffles + Mochi!” Obama tweets. “I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world.”

On the show, Obama enlists the help of puppets hailing from “the land of frozen food.” According to Strong Black Lead, they will travel the world jumping from “kitchens, restaurants, farms, and homes all over the world.”

The show highlights Obama’s advocacy to prevent childhood obesity. During her time as the First lady, Obama launched various programs to promote healthy eating in children. Some of her programs include the “Let’s Move!” campaign, countless initiatives to provide food to families, and nationwide healthy eating platforms.

Waffles + Mochi will premiere on March 16th, 2021.
