The second annual BET Social Awards aired last night, and it was beyond entertaining! The awards show was hosted by the comedians DC Youngfly and JessHilarious, who were extremely hilarious throughout the night. The awards show celebrated individuality and taking ownership of your own digital footprint, according to The-A-Scene. Here is a recap from JaGurl TV of the BET Social Awards.
The show consisted of categories such as “Issa Wave”, “Social Hustle”, & “Best Celeb Follow.” Cardi B took home the “Best Celeb Follow” award, @Supa_Cent took home the “Social Hustle” award, and the City Girls took home the “Issa Wave” award. Yung Miami, member of the group City Girls, proudly accepted the award and made sure she shouted out her group member JT who is currently serving a jail sentence for fraud charges.
The awards show also had some hot performances. They opened the show with the hottest dancers out there on social media. These dancers included Shiggy, who also performed his new single ‘Can’t Go Back’, and Dan Rue (known as Dancing Dan). Dani Leigh had the crowd hyped performing her hit single ‘Lil Bebe.’ Of course, Soulja Boy had to rock the stage performing his biggest hits.
