Growing up Issa Rae wasn’t the girl that had many boys fawning at her feet. She was like many of us. She is now featured in the April Essence Cover. Growing up she embraced a “Brains Over Beauty” mentality.
According to Essence Magazine Issa Rae explains her logic” As corny as it sounds, I want you to just like my mind, I think a part of it just came from figuring out that the guys I like, I’m not their type. Learning that early on made me realize there’s no point in valuing the physical because it wasn’t going to get me anywhere. So what can I control, and what can I bring to the table? How can I be valued in this way?”
This tactic helped her throughout life by taking time and discovering who she is. This also helped in creating her “The Adventures of An Awkward Black Girl” YouTube series. She also told Essence that “When you don’t have much to do or you don’t have plans on Friday night, you’re making up a character who does—That was an outlet for me. I fantasized all the time about having a different life. And that manifested in creating characters and worlds and scenarios. I’ve definitely let my imagination run free.”
Sometimes we all need to take time to focus on ourselves, improving who we are and let our imagination run free

Hi! Try going to your word press plugin and type “captcha plugins” in the search engine. Theres quite a few that show. Hope this helps!
