If it’s one female rapper we can count on to open the door and allow other female rappers to shine is Remy Ma. The Bronx native announced in an interview with OTFMZ Battle Rap Media that she will be starting her very own all female rap league.
“I just want all the women that have ever put their blood sweat and tears into this, [and] that’s been doing this for years to get a chance to really make some decent money,” Remy says in the interview.
The rap icon plans to name the league after her company Chrom 23 (short for Chromosome 23). Remy also stated that she invested “hundreds of thousands of dollars” of her money into the vision. “I’m not doing this because of me. I’m not trying to be cocky or nothing. I’m rich, I really am.” she stated.
The first battle is scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022 featuring battle rappers 40 B.A.R.R.S, Ms. Hustle, and Jaz the Rapper.
