The annual Met Gala was hosted Monday night by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. What viewers look forward to most are the looks that follow the year’s theme. The Guilded Age took over as the theme for this year’s event. In previous years, the Barbadian singer and fashion designer never disappointed on a red carpet.
Rihanna is expecting her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky and was unable to attend. In her absence, she took to Instagram to post a video unveiling a new marble statue at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Rihanna wrote in her caption, “shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!”
A historic honor indeed! It is unsure whether the statue is real because it hasn’t been covered on the Met Gala’s social media. It is assumed that this was a tribute to the singer by Vogue.
