‘Cinderella’, starring Brandy and Whitney Houston will be available on Disney+

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will be premiering on Disney+ Feb. 12, after years of fans requesting for the iconic film to be added to the streaming service.

The critically acclaimed film features R&B legend Brandy and the late great Whitney Houston. Other amazing actors who star in the movie include Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Alexander and the late Natalie Desselle Reid. According to Variety, in 1997, more than 60 million viewers tuned in to the live-action fairy tale. And this was the production studio first multicultural version of another classic film “Cinderella.”

“It’s pretty remarkable that people have been begging for ‘Cinderella’ to be re-released for almost 24 years. I mean, what do you think, is it possible?” Goldberg teased while singing a lyrics during an interview with Brandy on Them View’.

Brandy responded back: “It’s definitely possible. I appreciate the fans…I’m so excited that Cinderella has a home now at Disney Plus and we can celebrate, and share, and inspire a whole new generation.”

The film’s soundtrack featured songs from the legendary Richard Rodgers, and Oscar Hammerstein with songs “Impossible,” “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” “A Lovely Night” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?”

According to Atlanta News Now, Brandy petitioned to have the movie featured on Disney+ for a while. She and others connected to the film say they’re elated Disney has given fans a chance to see the film.
