One question that we now have to answer during quarantine is, “How do we celebrate holidays?” During a time where social distancing is the new normal, it is hard to gather with friends and family for major holidays. With Mother’s Day this Sunday, we are now trying to find creative ways to celebrate our moms in the best way possible. Secret, the antiperspirant/deodorant brand for women, is highlighting the strength of mothers with its Mom Strong campaign.
Mothers come in all races, and ethnicities experiencing their own motherhood struggles. The campaign features female athletes and strong moms, Serena Williams and Swin Cash. The campaign give a shout out to not only mothers, but grandmothers, sisters, aunts and mentors.
“For the moms who taught us never sweat our critics,” Williams says in the ad. “To every woman who has had a child, lost a child, adopted a child, raised a child, or raised one up, you teach us what not to sweat so we can show the world our strength.”
According to ESSENCE, for every Secret e-card shared between now and May 17th, the brand will donate a stick of deodorant to frontline healthcare workers. They are collaborating with Feeding America, an organization that provides food to people in need through a nationwide network of food banks, to get the product to those who need it most.
