Over the past couple of months, Hollywood has been forced to do major a revamp on how they operate as an industry. Celebrities have stepped up to declare increased inclusion when it comes to producing, writing, and creating entertainment. Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer, has expressed that she wants more people with disabilities represented in Hollywood.

“Nothing can replace lived experience and authentic representation,” Spencer said in a Ruderman Family Foundation campaign message. “That’s why it’s imperative that we cast the appropriate actor for the appropriate role.”

According to BET, the campaign coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Big influencers in Hollywood like George Clooney and Joaquin Phoenix joined Spencer for the PSA as well.
