Master P has been a prominent known figure in the industry, from his music, acting, producing, philanthropist, and even being a former basketball player. Master P has still found a way to stay involved and active in the community which is no surprise as to why he is receiving the ‘I Am Hip Hop Award’ at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Award.

With the everyday injustices that are faced within the Black community, the motivation to obtain goals may seem unobtainable. During the BET Hip Hop Award virtual red carpet, Master P stated “We always think we can’t do it, the only way we are going to be able to change this thing in our community when we talk about poverty, and low education, we gonna have to make some money.”

In the recent months there have been protests due to police brutality, in an effort to simply be heard. Master P breaks down the next alternative people of color should look into. “We go out on these streets, we burnt down all kinds of things but that didn’t do nothing. They have insurance, they can rebuild that, we gotta figure how we can own and buy these things. That’s what keeps me going, so it fuels my fire.”

“People quick to say negative things, but they don’t show the positive so a lot of these kids they don’t wanna do.” he continues “They think the only way out is the hustle, be killed or go to jail.” “We have other ways to make it now.”

Master P is set to receive the ‘I Am Hip Hop Award’ during the 15th annual 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards, for his outstanding contribution to the culture over his almost thirty-year career.

The 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards is set to Premiere, Tuesday October 27, 2020 9 EST.
